Founded by Head Coaches, Hilde Aune & James Major, Davis Diamonds opened in Davis, CA in 2002. After meeting in Norway while both were attending graduate school for sports science, they worked not only as coaches, but as educators as well, teaching P.E. to children.  Their careers have taken them from Norway to France, then Salt Lake City to Malaysia, and finally here to Davis, CA where James spent his childhood.  Hilde has been coaching gymnastics for over 40 years, 7 of which were spent coaching the UC Davis Women’s Gymnastics Team.  James, a professional coach for over 30 years, has his Masters degree in exercise physiology. With a passion for educating children and gymnastics, they sought to fill a need for quality training and instruction, and Davis Diamonds Gymnastics was born.
